Short black dress made from upcycled silk sari. The dress has long sleeve and a characteristic, oversized collar with pintuck details.

This dress is part of Sissel Edelbo’s exclusive NOIR PURE SILK concept. The dress is made from recycled silk saris, which have been dyed to become part of the NOIR COLLECTION. The silk saris used in the NOIR collection are in various shades of black and some have prints that are still visible after dyeing. Some have small unique embroideries that tell the story of the previous use of the sari. This just contributes to the uniqueness of every dress.

All SISSEL EDELBO dresses are made from recycled saris, previously worn by women in India. Therefore, you might find tiny flaws such as marks, stains, loose threads and small repairs, which are a part of the fabric’s authentic story. At SISSEL EDELBO that is exactly what is loved and cherished, and hopefully you will see the beauty in these imperfections too.

One size, fits US size 6-16.

About SISSEL EDELBO

The core of the Danish brand SISSEL EDELBO is up-cycling of vintage saris and a love for Indian culture. Since 2004, the two founders Jeanne Sissel Thomsen and Christina Edelbo Petersen have traveled to India frequently to handpick saris for their sustainable collections.

SISSEL EDELBO mixes print and mystery with a simple nordic cut, so customers can choose sustainable clothes and enable the story of the saris to continue. All of the styles are made of cleaned up-cycled saris, and every single one of them are designed with love and care for Mother Earth.

SISSEL EDELBO supports a sustainable, vibrant future for the fashion industry and for the world. Each piece tells the story of the Indian heritage and the amazing women, all dressed in their traditional vibrant saris.
