For a long time, I’ve been toying with the idea of adding a line of dog accessories to Fair Fashionista. I am always looking for new ideas to further minimize waste, and dog bandanas seemed like a perfect way to make use of old clothes and fabric scraps.
Last time I was in Dubai, I walked by a fabric store in Satwa. The shop was moving, so they had a sale, and outside the shop was a big box of leftover trimmings which they were selling by the piece. I walked inside and asked, if there was a chance, I could buy the entire box with a discount, and the owner quickly agreed. I think he figured that customers in need of short pieces of leftover trimmings were rare, so he gave me a good price, and I could walk away as the owner of 33lbs of mixed trimmings:)
The bandana I have made ties in the neck and slides over the collar, which is a good way to ensure that the bandana is not too tight. The bandanas are made from leftover fabric, and each item is unique. The perfect accessory for the fair fashionista dog.
