A.N.D. Artisan Designer Phnom Penh

For a long time, I had been looking for a fair fashion clothing supplier, and man, did I kiss a lot of frogs along the way. I had almost given up, when Paul from Weavers Project in Takeo suggested that I got in touch with fashion designer Mr. Alan James Flux at (h)A.N.D. Artisan Designer in Phnom Penh.

(h)A.N.D. is one of the most well-established and highly regarded actors within the fair fashion segment in Phnom Penh, so at first I was a bit hesitant to reach out, but Paul took the lead and introduced me to Alan on WhatsApp, and we arranged to meet. It was love at first sight, and I immediately knew, that I wanted to work with Alan and his team.

Together with general manager and co-designer Mr. Pheap, Alan runs the (h)A.N.D. shop in the heart of Phnom Penh as well as the workshop, where the clothes are made.

(h)A.N.D. employs young people from modest backgrounds, and at the workshop they are taught valuable skills within the fields of design, sewing, pattern making and cutting. They are also offered a place to stay in the central part of the city along with a decent salary and a bright and airy work environment.

The items sold in the (h)A.N.D. shop in Phnom Penh are easy-to-wear clothing suited for both beach life and city life in a warmer climate. Though (h)A.N.D. also creates more daring pieces which are put on display at fashion shows around the world, and sometimes these truly unique items are available for sale in the shop. In addition to (h)A.N.D.’s own designs, different products, such as beautiful handwoven scarves, jewelry and bags from other fair fashion artisans are also available in the shop. If you are visiting Phnom Penh and you want to buy a stylish souvenir that also has a positive impact on the local community and makes the world a better place, stop by (h)A.N.D.’s shop on Street 240.

You can get in touch with Alan or Mr. Pheap through the (h)A.N.D. Facebook page, send an email to artisandesigners@gmail.com or visit the shop in Phnom Penh:
